Haha. A-kon was amazing! X3 It was so friggin busy, which was good and bad. Good because that meant business (it was a bit boring Sunday . . . lol!) and bad because it was so busy that I didn't get to enjoy the con much, though that's to be expected as a tabler and not a con-goer.
It was a bit stressful when we first got our table assignments, but we were able to get changes and so there were 4 tables in a row of peoples that we were all friends with (
Did some AWESOME art trades (my button collection has grown). I set up Thursday and got some commissions Thursday night. So exciting! I think this con had the most print commissions.
Did a coloring book with ~frostyshark, ~LoExpectations, ~the-only-halo, ~Quatrina and =Ladre and was able to sell nearly all of mine . . . I have two left but only marked down 7 sold so I'm . . . sad about that missing one :< It was hectic but fun to contribute to that. Maybe next A-kon (or con period), we can collab a comic anthology or something.
I hit the dealer's room and upstairs artist alleyway FINALLY on Sunday. I was worried I wouldn't get to go to the dealer's room at all the entire con. D:!! But it worked out and I honestly didn't buy much. My swag included 2 health pots (1 for a friend), a print from
I also got a chibi commission from
Overall, the con was good. Got to meet new people and make some money. It was good. Thank you everyone who bought stuff and I hope everyone enjoyed the commissions.
Because of the awesome response . . . I'm hoping to return to dA and keep at it. Here's hoping for the best. XD!!

My roommate stepped on my collar and it brokeded D:
Are you going to be at A-Fest? And if so, will you be selling collars? And if not, could I ask you REALLY nicely to make me one?
I also linked to your DA.

XD Inking is the only thing I have problems with...

I'm not so good with digital inking or coloring since I'm so slow. But there is something really visceral and tactile about inking IRL. I enjoy using nib pens and brushes. I don't think I'm really that great at it, but I can tell I've improved in the past years, so that's good at least, lol. I know some people that are AMAZING at inking. o_o It makes you cry on the inside AND the outside. hehe.
Haha, yeah... it's not like I'd do anything with your address anyway XD I'm a freakin teenager, I doubt I'd even be able to stalk properly anyway (not that I would, haha...)
I'm slowly getting the hang of digital inking... UGH. Traditional inking HATED ME. I swear. I always would mess up and be all "NOOOOOO"
Haha, well, whenever I see someone better then me I find something to shoot for

Aw naw, lol. I have high hopes to be all sorts of prepared for Animefest with some new TWEWY premade buttons and other stuff.
Um yeah . . . I'm not really *good* at traditional inking, but I enjoy it. Though as said, I know there are people who are tremendously good at it. But it's fun to work with the media. Whenever I make mistakes, I'm just kinda like, "I'll fix it in photoshop" lol. haha. Go, post-production, go. XD;;;
And haha, yeah, because you don't expect the bosses to have the special attacks. OH MY GOD THE UZUKI AND KAMIYA BOSS... I was doing so well and then THEY PULL OUT A FREAKING FUSION
Haha, I usually ended up with ink all over my hands (pens LOVED to make messes of me) and a mostly okay line... yeah, but it all depends on how much practice you're willing to put into it. We all have our own preferences, and we'll excel more in those areas. Hehe, I've only used PS once >3> GIMP for meh (the poor man's photoshop, hehe) and OpenCanvas I just tested, it's EXCELLENT for doing digital inking.

Yeah, I think it's cool to do that. You could always do the sketchbook route. I've been fortunate enough to participate in some of those before (and when you look at some of the artists featured, I feel SOOO unworthy/honored/I better not screw up/etc.). You could bring a blank book and get artists to draw in it with a particular character/theme in mind. That way all of the commissions are together. The only downside is that many sketchbooks aren't equipped with paper heavy enough to take wet mediums very well. So if someone colors with, say, watercolor, it might get wavy. But that's not a HUGE deal. Of course, it's only a suggestion. I don't know about others (like if they plaster their room with arts), but I have this cool book of prints and art trades that I like to keep nearby and look through from time to time.
Haha, as said, it's fun to see what the artist sees in other original characters. I mean, maybe you envision him with smaller eyes or scowling instead or something. But once you get all the basic information, the artist takes off and you get what you get. Sometimes, though, you can tell "it isn't exactly what I was looking for" by the look in their face. But most of the time, I think people are just happy to see the characters come to life with someone else's spin on it.
*hugs back* Lol. Awesome. Cons are some of the coolest things, I hate to miss them. All the things to do, the events, the art, the costumes . . . the atmosphere itself is just so . . . amazing. Once you've gone, it's hard not to keep going to cons.
*laugh* Back in the day I used to coordinate tickets between friends. It was a TOTAL pain, but we did it get the group discount . . . nothing more satisfying than ordering tickets and getting in for like $25. XD
